Diwan Bench

The diwan-bench was custom designed as a transition piece between the living room and the terrace outside. So as not to block the views and to maintain the blur between the inside and outside the back of the diwan is kept extremely light.

Materials that were used in the rest of the interiors of the house were also used for the diwan; brass pipes with a simple plywood base, finished in teakwood veneer with blue velvet soft cushioning. The extended plywood base acts as a side table, while the positioning between the column and wall, create a private niche for a day bed to read a newspaper or lounge and appreciate the spectacular sea views.

The language of the diwan-bench resonates with the rest of the house, it is simple yet rich in form and structure, neither overtly detailed yet it stands on its own as a bespoke piece of furniture.
